How to Organise a Company Christmas Party?

Corporate events and parties actually have much more significance than they initially may appear. In fact, they have a significant role to play in team building. If the event is well-organised, it increases the sense of belonging among employees and loyalty to the company. Moreover, if you have new colleagues, it helps you to get to know them better, even from a different perspective than the professional one. In our article, we will remind you what you should not forget before the Christmas party.

Start Planning Well In Advance

Choosing the date of the Christmas party is not easy. You have to think about the fact that a lot of your colleagues have already planned their holidays before the festive season. So, the best thing to do is to figure out which day they would all be free and hold the party on that date.

In addition, you should count on the fact that many companies will be planning a Christmas party, so if you want to have it in other premises than your company, it would be best if you don't leave the organization to the last minute. Otherwise, you may not be able to book the space or programme you would like.

Ideally, you want to plan your party venue several months in advance and you can deal with the actual details a few weeks before the event.

Set Your Budget

It doesn't matter if you are planning a big, flashy party or a smaller get-together. It's good to know what kind of budget you can count on. This will prevent the unpleasant surprise of finding your plans unaffordable.

Plan Snacks and Drinks
This is really important. A big part of the success of a Christmas party is the choice of good food and drinks. However, you need to choose first whether you want to organise a dinner, a buffet or just small snacks. What you mustn't forget is to check for food allergies and also think about vegetarians and vegans. Make sure you have provided enough food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Order Gifts In Advance
If you want to surprise your colleagues with a small gift as a treat from the company, order them early enough. In the run-up to Christmas, delivery times can get unpleasantly long. This is especially true if you want to have items made with your company logo and in larger volumes. Order your gifts early and you'll avoid unnecessary stress and figuring out more affordable alternatives.

Come Up with a Programme
The party won't get going on its own, you'll have to help it along at the beginning. You can insert a speech by the company director at the beginning, but make sure it is not too long. You can also include a Secret Santa in your agenda, where each colleague draws one colleague ahead of time and gifts that one without revealing themselves. During the party you can then guess who was whose Secret Santa.

Don't forget to create a music playlist, with a few of each colleague's favourite songs. If you're planning a big Christmas party, you'll need to arrange a DJ beforehand.

Christmas Decoration Is a Must

If the Christmas party will be held at your company, you can decorate a Christmas tree together a few days before the event, which will make the party and the days before Christmas more pleasant. In addition to the tree, you can put up mistletoe and lights to create the right Christmas mood.
